Accessibility at Oh Hi

Everyone deserves a fair shot at twelve good conversations. Here's what we do at the evenings and on this site, and what to tell us so we can sort the rest.

The venues

Before we confirm a venue, we check how you get in, where the nearest accessible toilet is, how loud the room gets and what the seating's like. Step-free venues come first.

Your booking email lists the step-free entrance, the nearest accessible toilet and the seating. If a venue isn't step-free, we say so on the event page and in your booking email well before the night, so you can cancel for a full refund if it won't work.

On the night

  • Stay seated all evening. Tell us and the conversations come to you, whichever side of the room you're on.
  • A quieter table. We pick rooms where you can talk without raising your voice. If you're hard of hearing, we can put you at the quietest table, away from the bar.
  • Name cards in large print, and the bell is a small brass one, not a buzzer.
  • Support workers and carers are welcome. Tell us before you book and we'll work out how it runs, including where they sit.
  • Need a minute? Take one. Tell your host and they'll hold your next conversation.

Just ask

Reply to your booking email, or use the contact page before you book. Tell us what would help. We'd rather sort it in advance than have you find out at the door.

This website

We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA. Pages work with a keyboard, images carry text alternatives, colours are chosen for contrast, and if your device asks for reduced motion, the animations stop. If something on the site gets in your way, tell us through the contact page and we'll fix it.
