Private speed dating events in Sydney
Your people, our format. A hosted evening for a workplace social club, a sports club or a group of single friends who've run out of people to set each other up with.
What is a private speed dating event?
It's an Oh Hi evening just for your group. You bring the guests (at least 16, ideally 24); we bring the host, the bell, the cards and, if you need one, the venue. Everyone has six-minute conversations in turn, then ticks who they'd like to see again. Mutual matches get each other's first name and email at 9am the next morning. Private evenings run on weeknights from 6:30pm, in Sydney.
Who books a private evening
Workplace social clubs
A Thursday after work for the single people in a big office. Opt-in, off-site and nothing to do with the org chart.
Clubs and alumni groups
Sports clubs, uni alumni, running groups. People with something in common who've never actually talked.
Friends of friends
You and your single friends each bring single friends. Everyone meets someone new, and nobody's the third wheel.
Friendship nights
New to Sydney, or new to a team? Same format, with a "let's talk again" card instead of a match card.
What's included
- A host from arrival to goodnight
- Name cards, match cards and the brass bell
- A run sheet built around your group's size and mix
- Matches entered and sent by email at 9am the next morning
- A venue found for you, or we run it at yours
The same code of conduct and privacy rules as every Oh Hi evening. Nobody sees anyone's card.
- Weeknights only, Monday to Thursday, starting 6:30pm or later.
- 16 guests minimum. 24 is the sweet spot. Bigger groups get a second host.
- Priced per group, depending on numbers and whether we find the venue. We quote by email within a day.
- Sydney only for now.

Can I book a private speed dating event in Sydney?
Yes. Oh Hi runs private hosted speed dating evenings for workplace social clubs, sports and alumni clubs, and groups of single friends. It's the same format as our public evenings: six-minute conversations, a host keeping time, and mutual matches by email the next morning.
How many people do you need for a private event?
At least 16 guests, so everyone gets a good run of conversations. A room of 24 is the sweet spot. Bigger groups are possible with a second host.
When can private events run?
Weeknight evenings, Monday to Thursday, starting at 6:30pm or later. We don't run daytime or weekend events.
Can you run a friendship or networking version?
Yes. The same format works for meeting new friends or colleagues: we swap the match card for a "let's talk again" card and keep everything else the same.
