Dating after 40 is different. You know what you want, you have less patience for endless messaging, and your evenings are precious. That's exactly why meeting in person can work so well.
Why in person suits this stage
You can tell more from six minutes of conversation than from weeks of messages. Tone, warmth, humour and kindness don't come through on a screen, and by now you know those are what matter.
Choosing the right evening
Pick a bracket where you'll meet people at a similar stage of life. Our 45–60 and 55+ evenings start earlier, at 6:30pm, in quieter rooms where you can hear each other without raising your voice.
Being open about your life
Kids, divorce, career changes: everyone in the room has a story. Mentioning yours naturally is fine. Leading with it isn't necessary.
Keep it light
Treat the evening as a night out with interesting company. Matches are a bonus. People relax when nobody is treating it as an interview.
